Additional Description: 'All-new 2018 Compass looks more like the midsize Cherokee, although it's narrower (and slower). Compass is powered by an aging and underwhelming 2.4-liter engine making 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. We most like the offroad Compass Latitude, which feels more like an authentic Jeep. It's not serious about off-roading like the Wrangler or Cherokee, but the Compass Latitude beats other crossovers on the trails. It has higher bumpers for clearing rocks and climbing and descending ridges, along with one inch added ground clearance and more rugged all-terrain tires. Its 9-speed transmission locks into first gear with a 20:1 simulated crawl ratio, so you can go very, very slow, an important feature in rugged terrain. Compass Latitude comes standard with four wheel drive and offroad rigging, including a 115-volt power outlet that's useful for camping. But it also comes with leather, and upgraded infotainment. Jeep offers active-safety features on all but the base model. They can be fitted with optional forward-collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, adaptive cruise control, active lane control, and rear parking sensors. Trailhawk 4WD gets the 9-speed automatic, black roof, leather seat upholstery. The handsome Compass borrows a sizable portion of its good looks from both the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. Up front is the usual Jeep seven-slot grille, but softer lines separate the Compass from a Wrangler or Renegade. Along the bodysides and approaching the tail, the compact Compass looks more modern. Especially with a contrasting-color roof. Latitude get their own strapping appearance, with tow hooks, husky tires, and bumpers that provide greater clearance. Organic shapes and toned-down lines greet passengers entering the Compass. In both materials and execution of details, the cabin looks pleasantly upscale. Latitude seats wear leather and cloth. The Compass' front seats are a bit narrow and thinly padded. Every Compass has a height-adjustable driver's seat, but power seats are an option. Two adults should be comfortable in back, Jeep's Compass emphasizes comfort and usability. Civilized and quietly comfortable, Power is adequate in suburban driving. the Compass steers well and rides quite comfortably, its fully independent suspension handily soaking up pavement imperfections. Jeep Compass is tuned for on-road comfort more than off-road capabilities. Engine power is moderate; we prefer the 6-speeds to the 9-speed automatic. Even base models are decently equipped.'Air filtration, Front air conditioning, Front air conditioning zones: single, Rear vents: second row, Airbag deactivation: occupant sensing passenger, Front airbags: dual, Knee airbags: driver, Side airbags: front, Side curtain airbags: front / rear, Side-curtain airbag rollover sensor, Antenna type: mast, Auxiliary audio input: Bluetooth / USB / iPod/iPhone / jack, Radio: AM/FM / touch screen display / voice operated, Radio data system, Total speakers: 6, ABS: 4-wheel, Brake drying, Braking assist, Electronic brakeforce distribution, Electronic parking brake, Front brake diameter: 12.0, Front brake type: ventilated disc, Front brake width: 1.1, Power brakes, Rear brake diameter: 11.0, Rear brake type: disc, Rear brake width: 0.47, Armrests: rear center with cupholders, Floor mat material: carpet, Floor material: cargo area carpet / carpet, Floor mats: front / rear, Interior accents: metallic-tone, Shift knob trim: chrome, Steering wheel trim: leather, Ambient lighting, Assist handle: front / rear, Capless fuel filler system, Cargo area light, Center console: front console with armrest and storage, Cruise control, Cupholders: front / rear, Multi-function remote: illuminated entry / panic alarm / proximity entry system, One-touch windows: 2, Overhead console: front, Power outlet(s): 12V cargo area / 12V front, Power steering: variable/speed-proportional, Power windows: lockout button, Push-button start, Reading lights: front, Rearview mirror: manual day/night, Retained accessory power, Steering wheel: tilt and telescopic, Steering wheel mounted controls: audio / cruise control / voice control, Storage: cargo tie-down anchors and hooks / door pockets / in floor / seatback, Vanity mirrors: dual illuminating, Liftgate window: fixed, Rear door type: liftgate, 4WD selector: electronic, 4WD type: full time, Axle ratio: 3.73, Drive mode selector, Locking differential: center, Alternator: 160 amps, Battery: maintenance-free, Battery rating: 525 CCA, Battery saver, Door handle color: body-color, Front bumper color: body-color, Grille color: black with chrome accents, Headlight bezel color: black, Mirror color: body-color, Rear bumper color: body-color, Skid plate(s): rear, Window trim: chrome, Infotainment: Uconnect, Infotainment screen size: 5 in., Clock, Compass, Digital odometer, Driver information system, External temperature display, Gauge: tachometer, Instrument cluster screen size: 3.5 in., Multi-functional information center, Trip odometer, Warnings and reminders: lamp failure / low fuel / engine oil / coolant / tire fill alert, Daytime running lights, Front fog lights: cornering, Headlights: auto delay off / auto on/off / cornering / halogen / quad headlights, Side mirror adjustments: manual folding / power, Side mirrors: heated, Roof rails, Roof rails color: black, Active head restraints: dual front, Body side reinforcements, Camera system: rearview, Child safety door locks, Child seat anchors: LATCH system, Crumple zones: front / rear, Impact sensor: post-collision safety system, Rearview monitor: in dash, Emergency locking retractors: front / rear, Front seatbelts: 3-point, Rear seatbelts: 3-point, Seatbelt force limiters: front, Seatbelt pretensioners: front, Seatbelt warning sensor: front, Driver seat manual adjustments: height / reclining / 6, Front headrests: adjustable / 2, Front seat type: bucket, Passenger seat folding: folds flat, Passenger seat manual adjustments: reclining / 6, Rear headrests: adjustable / 3, Rear seat folding: split, Rear seat manual adjustments: reclining, Rear seat type: 60-40 split bench, Upholstery: premium cloth, Upholstery accents: vinyl, 2-stage unlocking doors, Anti-theft system: engine immobilizer, Power door locks: auto-locking, Hill holder control, Roll stability control, Stability control, Traction control, Trailer stability control, Steering ratio: 15.7, Turns lock-to-lock: 2.7, Front shock type: gas, Front spring type: coil, Front stabilizer bar, Front struts: MacPherson, Front suspe

Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 2018 Jeep COMPASS recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 2018 Jeep COMPASS problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.
